You never did respond huh daddy?

Thank you for your blessings, i carry them with me always. I always have and always will miss you...I loved and respected you with all my heart and soul, this will never change. I've often wondered, on the odd occasion i look up and ask for guidance, if anyone was there in the first place? Now i know in my heart of hearts, you will be there, i know you will watch over our family as you've always done.

I have to tell you dadun i really will miss you though. Love as always, your grandson, Arjun.

Hi dada,
I know you would not be replying to this mail. The experience of listening to stories from you was one that I can never forget. There were so many things which I just used to discuss with you. Even when as a kid we used to forget contacting you, u used keep that bond strong. There is absolutely nobody that can replace you!! I shall be missing every moment spent with you. The long stories and the short suggestions of living a good life ! dada, I was not able to see my own grandfather, but I felt you had treated me as ur own grandson. Dada, for some reason it just doesnt feel good, and I can get this fact that I shall not able to meet you/talk to you/have your words of wisdom by mail ....... I am sure you knew already, but I just wanted to tell you what you meant to all of us, especially me.

Love you dada.....
shall miss you always
Your grandson,
Sahil

Dear Anil:

I read your mail with a heavy heart. Passing away of a parent regardless of age and eventual inevitability is very difficult to reconcile. The only consolation is that one looked after and made the last phase of the life with increasing incapacitation and dependence a comfortable one. Your father was one of those remarkable persons who was instrumental in creating an aspect of modern India whose importance is only increasing with time. His vision and foresight were the basis for laying the foundation of the tourism industry in this country. This was a passion which I could always feel whenever met him. Anu's career grew mostly during the time when he had formally retired. Even then he was involved, she met him at just about all the occasions where she went representing the airline. Passing away of people like your father create voids that never get filled. I consider myself lucky that I got to know him. There is much that one learns and imbibes, often consciously and many times by association however fleeting it may be. He continues to be a part of my being.

Please convey my condolences to your mother.

Sachin.
